I’ve just finished a three week tour with the VELG VET Summit which was totally amazing and heaps of fun. Seriously, I had so much fun meeting new people, sharing my ideas and just being “on the road”.

You probably already know that I draw a lot of energy from doing this type of work. It energises me, inspires me and makes me feel really great to be able to give back in a way that is helpful to people. In a lot of ways, this type of work is my dream job.

It’s only after I have actually stopped running around that I realise how tiring it is! I mean, I always knew that it takes as much energy from me as it gives me, but now that I have actually stopped, I realise just how much energy it takes.

This sounds like I am complaining, but I’m not. I couldn’t be happier! It is that special feeling of exhaustion that comes after you’ve done so much hard work on an activity that you love. Exhaustion / exhilaration – “exhaustaration” perhaps?

Anyhow, I guess what I am saying is don’t confuse being exhausted with not liking what you’re doing. It could be that your exhaustion is 100% worth it, because it serves your needs, values and goals.  And if it’s not….. then maybe you need to rethink doing it in the first place?
